A New Chapter: Hanging Up the L-Plates
To all my past, present, and future drivers,
After 13 and a half wonderful years as a driving instructor, the time has come for me to officially retire at the end of August due to health issues.
Looking back over the years, it has been an absolute privilege to help so many of you take to the road. We’ve shared it all—the nerve-wracking first lessons, the triumphs, the occasional setbacks, and plenty of tears, laughter, and celebratory hugs along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of learners.
I’m Still Here to Help!
While I am stepping back from full-time instruction, my passion for coaching hasn´t gone anywhere. If you have your own car and are looking for a bit of guidance, I am still available on a more informal basis to offer:

"Find it crazy that I’m going to be on the road now, but it has been great learning to drive with Phil. Lessons were so well planned and integrated seamlessly with my own driving outside the lessons. Being with Phil and doing his exercises I never once felt uneasy or anxious, and it’s taught me not just how to pass a test but to be a safer driver on the road as a whole. Overall, it’s been a top experience with a top bloke, and I’ll never forget “Bruce Lee’s famous quote” 🙂

Huge congratulations go to Anton who passed his test today at the 1sr attempt and with only 1 driver fault. He joins my exclusive club of passing both Theory test and driving test 1st time. Proud to say that I´ve taught all 3 brothers and they all passed 1st time.

phil was an amazing driving instructor throughout, always explained things in a very calm manner, making sure that i felt confident in what i was doing. and was always down to tell you one of his silly dad jokes, my first lesson i was so nervous and honestly never thought i’d be passing, especially not first time! but phil always believes and pushes for it and is an excellent teacher! thanks for all the laughs and the lessons that got me to that pass!

Phil helped me so much with my driving reassuring me every step of the way, anytime i did anything wrong he would calmly help me and walk me through what i did and how to resolve it. I was so scared when i had my first lesson as meeting new people can be scary, but as soon as i spoke to him my anxiety flew out the window.
