A New Chapter: Hanging Up the L-Plates
To all my past, present, and future drivers,
After 13 and a half wonderful years as a driving instructor, the time has come for me to officially retire at the end of August due to health issues.
Looking back over the years, it has been an absolute privilege to help so many of you take to the road. We’ve shared it all—the nerve-wracking first lessons, the triumphs, the occasional setbacks, and plenty of tears, laughter, and celebratory hugs along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of learners.
I’m Still Here to Help!
While I am stepping back from full-time instruction, my passion for coaching hasn´t gone anywhere. If you have your own car and are looking for a bit of guidance, I am still available on a more informal basis to offer:

Passed first time
Throughout life I tend to find all the old wives sayings tend to be true. If you buy cheap, you buy twice. Pass With Phil may be a little more expensive than other driving instructors, but the value you receive far out strips the cost. Along with the excellent lessons, you also get Amazing support to go with it. Emailed lesson de-brief, handouts to explain techniques further, free access to practice your theory, and most importantly, he´s always there at the end of the phone for a chat! No other instructor goes above and beyond like him, so save yourself money in the long run by spending a tiny bit more now. A student is only as good as its teacher.
Although I joined his list of many, many first time passes, I´m also a little disappointed. Our weekly drives were such fun, I´d be eagerly waiting for the next. Now thanks to Phil, not only have I gained a full driving licence, independence, but I´ve also gained a great friend.

Passed first time
After learning with Phil for 5 months, I recommend learning with him so much. Without fail, Phil made sure I had a lesson every week (no cancellations) and was never once late or unreliable in the slightest. Driving was made such a fun experience with no worries due to trusting Phil and being able to chill out whilst learning, I never felt I had one disastrous lesson as Phil would always make sure I understood everything thoroughly and that I was comfortable whilst driving! I couldn´t be happier with the 5 months I had whilst learning and I definitely wouldn´t have been as prepared as I was with both my practical and theory if I hadn´t chosen Phil as my driving instructor. I just wanted say a massive thanks to Phil for getting me thru my driving test and helping me pass first time, Phil is so relaxed and patient and even quite witty 😂, it was always fun to have my lessons and really looked forward to them, he made it feel like a breeze 👍🏻, he always has time to help you , and the feedback each lesson was really helpful, it really is the best thing I´ve done.
So if your looking for a great, lovely, safe driving instructor I really really recommend Phil he seriously is the best, 👍🏻👍🏻🚗

If you are thinking of learning to drive I would recommend Pass with Phil without a doubt. He made me feel so comfortable and confident with driving and taught me excellent tips and techniques especially to nail the manoeuvres (even when I used to have a mental block against the left reverse).
As well as being an amazing teacher Phil is also such a lovely person with a great sense of humour. I always enjoyed our lessons and will miss them even though I´m so pleased to have passed! He always has a story to tell every lesson and we had some great laughs!

Where do I even start .... so many laughs and tears especially after my car crash and if it wasn´t for you I think I´d of gave up then, but nope you kept me behind that wheel an told me I´ll pass. After 3 times of failing my test through stupid things each time today I walked away with 4 minors and a pass... I can´t thank you enough for the support you have gave me not just in my driving either but overall helping me overcome so much more barriers in general. You are a true star and a top instructor as you know I shout your number to everyone 🙈😂😂, thank you for everything and giving me and my princess the chance for adventure days ... gonna miss the banter lessons oh and them red lights which are green 🙈😂😂😂
