A New Chapter: Hanging Up the L-Plates
To all my past, present, and future drivers,
After 13 and a half wonderful years as a driving instructor, the time has come for me to officially retire at the end of August due to health issues.
Looking back over the years, it has been an absolute privilege to help so many of you take to the road. We’ve shared it all—the nerve-wracking first lessons, the triumphs, the occasional setbacks, and plenty of tears, laughter, and celebratory hugs along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of learners.
I’m Still Here to Help!
While I am stepping back from full-time instruction, my passion for coaching hasn´t gone anywhere. If you have your own car and are looking for a bit of guidance, I am still available on a more informal basis to offer:

"If you´re thinking of learning how to drive I would highly recommend Pass with Phil to anybody. His friendly, calm and positive attitude made my learning experience extremely enjoyable and pleasant. He offers immense support with both your theory and practical work by emailing you lesson briefings each week, helping you to identify what you´re doing well and what areas need improving. Phil has a great sense of humour, and although his jokes are shocking, he still managed to make me laugh multiple times during my lessons!! He is extremely reliable & organised and if you´re ever unsure about anything he´s always at the end of the phone to help you. Nothing ever seems like it´s too much trouble. I couldn´t recommend him enough, and although I´m extremely happy to have passed I do miss our lessons every week. Thanks again Phil!!!

"What can I say? Really friendly guy and makes you feel relaxed and safe throughout learning. Don´t think there was a moment I actually felt scared about driving with Phil, he always made sure it was safe to drive. Throughout learning to drive we did it safely, sticking to the basics and ensuring we were ready for the worst situations. He´s always really well prepared and up for anything, I highly recommend him as he is such a great teacher and lovely person to drive with, his jokes aren´t the best though! Easily give him 5 star for his teaching and friendliness."

"My driving lessons with Phil, never felt like a chore. His laid back, yet professional attitude made driving very enjoyable! Whenever I was nervous or uncertain about a situation, he always put me at ease. His good sense of humour, which usually left me in hysterics, made driving a delight and I used to look forward to my lessons every week. He is very patient and understanding which made bad situations less stressful and worrying. Even with my theory test, he offered great support and helped me learn from my mistakes which led me to pass on my first attempt.
Although I´m over the moon to be out on the roads, it´s safe to say I miss my lessons with Phil.
Overall, Phil is an excellent teacher who will always make you feel comfortable and confident with your driving which will lead you to the success of passing. I´d recommend him to anyone who is thinking of learning to drive. Thanks Phil :) "

"Phil is a very delightful person to know. My very first time driving was quite an achievement. Phil went through all the basics with me, and while it took a bit of time and patience I managed to get the hang of things. before I knew it the first few months went by and I started to improve and drive with confidence. I received plenty of handouts and advice which were really useful and helped me pass my theory first time aswell as preparing me for my driving test.
Phil never gave up on me and instead helped me increase my confidence for driving as well as improving my driving skills. I don´t think I could have done any better myself without having him to aid me. You cannot go wrong in any way as he tailors each lesson to a level suitable for you!
Finally he´s a very kind and outgoing individual. lessons were really fun and enjoyable and we shared plenty of stories and moments together. Highly recommended! Good luck to Phil & all future drivers."
