A New Chapter: Hanging Up the L-Plates
To all my past, present, and future drivers,

After 13 and a half wonderful years as a driving instructor, the time has come for me to officially retire at the end of August due to health issues.

Looking back over the years, it has been an absolute privilege to help so many of you take to the road. We’ve shared it all—the nerve-wracking first lessons, the triumphs, the occasional setbacks, and plenty of tears, laughter, and celebratory hugs along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of learners.

I’m Still Here to Help!
While I am stepping back from full-time instruction, my passion for coaching hasn´t gone anywhere. If you have your own car and are looking for a bit of guidance, I am still available on a more informal basis to offer:

"Phil is a wonderful driving instructor who taught me many skills that I needed throughout my time learning driving. I would recommend Phil to absolutely anybody, there are so many nice things I could say about Phil; he is so easy to get along with, and he really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. Phil never failed to make me laugh each lesson. Phil was brilliant with helping me with my Theory; he gave me constant feedback and encouragement, and really goes the extra mile for you. Phil most of all has really helped me with my confidence. I passed my Theory Test and Practical Test first time round, I really could not have done it without Phil and his support. Mahatma Ghandi and the Dalai Lama are both men well known for their patience, but even these two would have struggled with me as their student. Not Phil though, he has patiently guided me from a stage of abject horror at the thought of driving to a point where not only have I passed my driving test, but also am confident in my ability as a well-rounded and, above all, safe driver.

Not only has Phil been the sole catalyst in the process of my development from non-driver to confident full licence holder, through learning with him I feel I have gained a good friend. He doesn’t just care about you as a driver he cares about all of his students as people, something evident to me in his advice about running leading up to my first half marathon.

Ultimately if you want to learn to drive with a confidence that will serve you well beyond the test process and ultimately discover the joy of driving, then Phil is your man. Thanks again, mate, couldn’t have done it without you.

Passed first time
´Passing my driving test with my Dad as my instructor was really good because I was treated the same as every other student, and it didn´t feel weird to actually be learning with my Dad. When I was in the car, he was my instructor just like with everybody else. I always felt safe and at ease and I learned only the best because he´s such a good instructor. I honestly couldn´t have passed my test if it wasn´t for him! The good thing is that even though I´m his daughter, he wasn´t afraid of telling me when I did something wrong and areas that I needed to work on, just like another student. Definitely the best instructor/Dad ever! Thanks for everything, we did it together and we passed.´

If anyone were to ask me to recommend them a driving instructor then I’d tell them to contact Phil straight away.
