A New Chapter: Hanging Up the L-Plates
To all my past, present, and future drivers,
After 13 and a half wonderful years as a driving instructor, the time has come for me to officially retire at the end of August due to health issues.
Looking back over the years, it has been an absolute privilege to help so many of you take to the road. We’ve shared it all—the nerve-wracking first lessons, the triumphs, the occasional setbacks, and plenty of tears, laughter, and celebratory hugs along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of learners.
I’m Still Here to Help!
While I am stepping back from full-time instruction, my passion for coaching hasn´t gone anywhere. If you have your own car and are looking for a bit of guidance, I am still available on a more informal basis to offer:

I was very nervous when starting my driving lessons with Phil due to poor mentoring from another driving instructor. Phil has been very patient and has a funny, genuine personality that put me at ease straight away. Phil is an amazing driving instructor and I couldn’t recommend him enough! I cant say the same for the bad jokes...😂😂😂

First test of 2019, first pass of 2019. Huge congratulations go to Chloe, who passed her test today in Buxton. Well done, all the hard work paid off. Its been an absolute pleasure taking you for lessons. Enjoy your independence and stay safe.

Phil was an incredible driving instructor and gave me so much support and mentoring during my time learning with him. He has such an amazing teaching method and gave me a full understanding of how a car works, and how to drive. He sent out lesson briefings each week to tell me what I did well and what I could improve upon. This really helped me to nail each aspect of my driving so that I was confident when it came to test day, and when I go to drive on my own. I was quite nervous to begin with but Phil was always able to calm me. Whenever I made a mistake, he just talked me through why I went wrong and what to do to correct it. It really helped to build my confidence up behind the wheel - i can’t recommend him enough!!

From a parents point of view , you helped to alleviate any worries I had of a stranger taking my daughter out on her own. By coming and introducing yourself and explaining your teaching methods, I was confident that we had chosen the right man for the job ! You also kept me informed of her progress and I felt that I could get in touch anytime if I wanted to ask anything. I know you built up and excellent relationship with Lauren and she really looked forward to her lessons. You kept the lessons fun and made her see the funny side even when things went wrong .... I can’t thank you enough for getting her through her test and making her whole driving experience a positive one. You deserve 5 stars for quality value and service !! . I wouldn’t recommend anyone else ! Your jokes aren’t half bad either 😂
