A New Chapter: Hanging Up the L-Plates
To all my past, present, and future drivers,
After 13 and a half wonderful years as a driving instructor, the time has come for me to officially retire at the end of August due to health issues.
Looking back over the years, it has been an absolute privilege to help so many of you take to the road. We’ve shared it all—the nerve-wracking first lessons, the triumphs, the occasional setbacks, and plenty of tears, laughter, and celebratory hugs along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of learners.
I’m Still Here to Help!
While I am stepping back from full-time instruction, my passion for coaching hasn´t gone anywhere. If you have your own car and are looking for a bit of guidance, I am still available on a more informal basis to offer:

I passed my test a year ago, but I had never been on the motorway before. I wanted a change from my last driving instructor and ending up finding Phil who I found to be much better. He helped me feel calm and seemed very professional as he gave me a booklet with information on it and said he gives his pupils one every lesson so they can form into a file which I thought was a great idea (my old instructor didn´t give me anything like that). He also showed up early and we finished slightly late which shows he gives each pupil 100%, I am going to recommend him to my friends and family.

Drivings brill with Phil.
I really enjoyed learning to drive with Phil. He is an encouraging supportive teacher who honestly cares about his learners. He is very dedicated and provides great support outside of lessons too. I found the structure of his lessons very clear, so I was continually aware of my progress. Phil is a nice guy and we had a good laugh during the lessons too; as happy as I am to have passed my test, I will miss having lessons!

Learning to drive with Phil has been a fantastic experience. He is very supportive and really tries to boost your confidence whilst driving. He adjusts the lessons around what you want to do and what you need to work on. He also creates an email with an overview after every lesson, to help you focus your attention. He’s an involved and friendly teacher, who always arrives with a smile on his face. When it came to my theory test, Phil suggested we meet for tea and cake to run through the parts of the test I was unsure about, consequently I passed first time. Showing he always goes the extra mile! We always had a good laugh and can’t thank him enough. I’d recommend him to everyone!
